How to Stay Healthy in Klemtu (2006) 6 min30 sec Mini DV/16mm Teacher/Producer
In the summer of 2006, the Kitasoo Xaixais Band and Health Canada invited Tama to teach the youth (ages 5 to 18) of Klemtu, British Columbia about film and video production. What resulted was a short film about staying healthy in a small, remote community.

This narrative film is for children of all ages and is Tama’s Simon Fraser University graduation film. The story is set to Dr. Suess style poetry as well as unique live action visuals that actually show how life can be for a person with a learning disability.

Don’t like math? Well, nether does Tama. The student is studying so hard that he vomits all over his math book. The student is shocked to see that he threw up cartoon numbers, not his lunch.

Tama’s first 16mm film shows a girl reading from a book and removing all the verbs from the sentence. The sentence she is reading in the book also describes what is happing to her as she reads it.
